Wilden embraces Paper Week. A story from the event “A Box is Forever”

Sustainability, recycling, and conscious use of paper and cardboard-there is a very powerful common thread linking Wilden Herbal Teas and Paper Week. To celebrate the third edition of this initiative, we at Wilden have teamed up with a number of excellences to bring the “A Box is Forever” event to life. We tell you how it went.

What Paper Week is and how it came about

Paper Week is an initiative designed, promoted and organized by Comieco – National Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Cellulosic Packaging, and this year celebrated its third edition from April 15 to 21, 2023.

A week of events, exhibitions, conferences, creative workshops and shows throughout the country dedicated to learning more about the topic of separate collection of paper and cardboard and to discovering the inestimable value of the recycling supply chain – all from an absolutely creative, unprecedented and special perspective as only Comieco knows how to be.

Paper Week lands in NoLo with a workshop made in Wilden

For our event within Paper Week we wanted to play at home with many friends. We organized “A Box is Forever,” a free workshop on the topic of reuse, repurposing and recycling-all in NoLo, a slice of Milan north of Piazzale Loreto that we particularly love for the spontaneous recycling and reuse initiatives of various associations in the area.

Joining us were Fòla, pastry and gastronomy, Scatolificio Di Battista and Noi bookstore, which hosted the workshop. The spirit of the event revolved around the concept of sharing: the story of our research work on packaging and raw materials, the culinary creations of Fòla, the products of Scatolificio Di Battista and the beautiful setting of the independent bookstore Noi. The result was a convivial moment of disclosure and dialogue on a single theme: recycling, paper and waste materials, and especially their circular process in constant harmony with nature.

The absolute star of the workshop was a recycled paper box, made by Scatolificio Di Battista. All the people who participated in the workshop received this box that contained many small gifts:

• Fòla butter cookies with Reborn herbal tea;
• Of the sheets to be planted by Comieco;
• Paper Week-themed reading recommendations from the Noi bookstore, including “From the Garden to the World. Small Handbook of Ecological Resilience” by Barbara Bernardini for nottetempo, “This Book Does It All” by Silvia Borando for Minibombo and “Cultivating Emotional Intelligence. How to educate for ecology” by Daniel Goleman for Tlon.

The box was personalized and colored by participants with natural tempera made from plant pigments, while our own Nicola Robecchi, founder of Wilden.herbals told all that juiciest information about medicinal plants such as properties, uses, flavors and benefits. To crown this moment of creation and sharing, a snack with our hot and cold Reborn herbal tea and Fòla scones made with Reborn herbal tea flavored butter, accompanied by apricot gelée.
