Wilden.herbals and neighborhood stores: Buonamici Bakery

Wilden.herbals' versatility has led us into disparate sales channels, always proving appropriate and in line with the target account. Case in point? The neighborhood store.

If we are well represented in Milan, our city, we have also landed in Florence thanks to our collaboration with Pasticceria Buonamici. Below is a conversation with Silvia, a member of the Buonamici staff.

Buonamici Patisserie in brief:

This is a historic business that has been open since 1949; we are located in the still popular part of Florence, still in the center, Oltrarno area. It is a neighborhood where they still open stores and where you can still find the artisans of the past. The business is family-run (third generation). We make traditional Florentine pastries and for the past year we have opened the store where we sell groceries, coffee, tea, going back to the origins. In the past in fact Bonamici was mainly a grocery store where in addition sweets were prepared and sold. This return to the origins was also designed to meet the needs of the pandemic period, thus creating a neighborhood store where varied and quality groceries could be purchased.

What do your customers think about Wilden.herbals? What is the best seller?

During the winter, we have had a boom in Remedium Boost to cope with the ailments of the season andHangover, designed primarily as gifts for friends and family. Remedium Night is also in high demand. So many customers have returned to repurchase, often starting with a trial kit of single sachets, returning later to purchase the 10-pack of their favorite Remedium. The bulk jar is appreciated for convenience, but the sachet is always the preferred format.

What do Pastry Buonamici and Wilden.herbals have in common?

Attention to the type of product and the quality of the raw material within it.
The graphic aspect also unites both realities. Customers are very attracted to Wilden’s pack, which goes well with the white background of our products. The dedicated corner, which has a pink wall as a background, is very striking.

What Pastry Buonamici and Wilden.herbals have in common

How did this collaboration come about?

The search for those who would deal with mastery and innovation to the herb and spice sector, and the common knowledge with theUniversity of Gastronomic Sciences (Pollenzo, CN) facilitated the meeting. The bakery has a line of spiced cookies, and meeting Wilden.herbals in conjunction with the store was a winning match. We like the idea that perfect raw materials for culinary preparations can be found in our store.

Have you ever thought of developing recipes using infusions?

We have not done this yet, but it is in our plans. We would like to use an infusion to make cookies, such as the concentration cookie using Remedium No. 5 – Focus.

Tell us about your typical customer.

We serve a truly diverse clientele, from the elderly man who has been frequenting the bakery for many years, to the young hipster in his 30s, to the affluent lady in fur coats. The neighborhood in recent months is really transforming; if before the pandemic, most of the apartments were for tourists who rented them out, now it is repopulating and becoming a trendy neighborhood. Wilden products have also been purchased by the lady who needed to give a gift, the mother who put them in the stocking for the hag, the young person attracted by the pack or the international appearance.
