{"id":2773,"date":"2020-08-03T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-03T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.gigadesignstudio.com\/shop.wildenherbals.com\/guide-food-dehydrators\/"},"modified":"2025-05-30T15:53:07","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T13:53:07","slug":"guide-food-dehydrators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wildenherbals.com\/en\/guide-food-dehydrators\/","title":{"rendered":"How to dry fruit with herbs &#8211; Guide to using a dryer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The culture of DIY, of taking care of oneself creatively to produce winter supplies, is a very old practice that over the centuries has allowed humans to develop countless dishes adapted for <strong>de-seasonalized consumption<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Drying fruits and plants is a very simple process, and with a small home dryer, you can do great things.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Taking advantage of the abundance of fruits that cover our tables and market stalls in the summertime, we spent Sunday morning preparing a <strong>mix of seasonal dried fruits<\/strong>, accompanied by the flavors of common herbs that are readily available.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"figure__wrapper\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wildenherbals.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/wilden-herbals_essiccare-a-casa-e-un-gioco-da-ragazzi-con-tre-spade_Wilden_frutta-essicata_18-1400x1050.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1938\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ingredients:  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>500 g<\/strong> apricots<\/li><li><strong>500g<\/strong> plums plums  <\/li><li><strong>500g<\/strong> thigh pears  <\/li><li><strong>10g<\/strong> rosemary<\/li><li><strong>10g<\/strong> lavender<\/li><li><strong>10g<\/strong> sage<\/li><li><strong>10g<\/strong> thyme  <\/li><li><strong>10g<\/strong> basil<\/li><\/ul>\n<div class=\"figure__wrapper\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wildenherbals.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/wilden-herbals_essiccare-a-casa-e-un-gioco-da-ragazzi-con-tre-spade_Wilden_frutta-essicata_15-1400x1050.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1934\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Procedure:  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Cut the apricots and plums in half and remove the stone, then cut the thigh pears into 1-inch-thick slices. Prepare the herbs by cutting them evenly into sprigs no longer than 4.5 cm. Arrange the fruit spaced on the trays on the Teflon sheets placed in the drying tray. Set the dryer to 48 hours at 60\u00b0 and every 12 hours turn the fruit in the pan.
