Dry January: a month to discover what mindful drinking means

Much more than a buzzword: Dry January is a real movement that turns good intentions into long-term healthier habits

The timing is not casual. In January, when the holiday uproar fades away, it is our own body that asks to slow down. This is why we feel the need to put daily stress on hold and get away from richer foods and alcoholic beverages at least for a while.

And that’s how Dry January came to be, a month to focus on well-being and new healthier habits.

Dry January, from global phenomenon to generational trend

Maybe you heard it from your friends or maybe you read about it in magazines and newspapers. Forbes, Washington Post have talked about it and even the most famous of American TV authors, Oprah Winfrey, has made it a personal motto.

Statistics say that year after year more and more people take up this challenge and if in the English speaking world there is no need to explain what it is, even the rest of the world, including Italy, is catching up.

If during Christmas and New Year festivities the consumption of alcoholic beverages is a ritual that is difficult to eradicate, its most natural response is to find a way to start the new year on the right foot. And it seems that this call is particularly felt among the youngest, especially to Generation Z who, not surprisingly, market surveys have renamed the sober curious.

The many benefits that will convince you to embrace Dry January

The reasons to do it are so many that it can convince people with all sorts of needs. For example, there are those who do it to save some money or those who want to lose weight.

And then there are all the people who want to start a new year in the name of personal well-being.

From good habit to lifestyle: what can change in a month

Those approaching this challenge for the first time may have some doubts. The most optimistic typically wonder if one month is really enough to have a significant effect, while everyone else wonders: will I really be able to do it for a whole month?

First of all, it is good to state that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. There are those who prefer to devote themselves body and soul (literally!) to this challenge and commit themselves to a very rigorous resolution, choosing not to drink even a glass of wine for the entire month of January. But this doesn’t have to be your battle too. You could rather opt to set a weekly or monthly limit. In short, to each his own!

In any case, the numbers speak for themselves: whatever is the personal version of this challenge, the results last over time – becoming real new habits. It is precisely for this reason that it is said that those who start with Dry January reach to mindful drinking, i.e. a more conscious way of experiencing alcoholic beverages.

Our purifying and energizing herbal teas to start a new year

Another good thing about this challenge is having the opportunity to experiment and try different things and getting out of our routine. Last year one of our additions was the Remedium n. 7 – Detox

We wanted to add a recipe to our menu to purify the body and interpret the “detox” trend in an absolutely rigorous but original way. We have chosen medicinal herbs historically associated with purifying properties such as ginger, fenugreek and horsetail. For a perfect purifying schedule, we recommend drinking it immediately in the morning, after waking up, but it is also very effective during or after a meal.

If last December was the month that made you say “with the new year let’s change gears”, then it’s time to recharge your batteries with our brand new Remedium n.8 – Reborn. Your new slogan for January (and all the following months!) will be ready to be reborn! and, sip by sip, your mental battery percentage will reach 100%. This herbal tea takes care of your well-being and revitalizes you with the right amount of energy.

When is the best time for this natural tonic? For us, it’s always the right time to savor a mix of herbs and fruit: let yourself be tempted by the sweetness of apple and lavender cthat combine with the groove of lemongrass and bergamot. Something tells us that you won’t do without it anymore: but know that it’s a Limited Edition, so don’t let it get away!
